KELLY K'S NEW GRILL, BY DR. SANTO LAFOCA, PITTSTON BLOG ENTRY #5
Friday is the day. We rescheduled from Monday. It’s just going to be me, Dr. LaFoca, and his assistant Sharon, who suggested this intimate scenario because we wouldn’t be interrupted. I’ll be getting my permanent porcelain veneers just in time from my television debut co-hosting the WVIA Channel 44 travel auction Saturday night.
I’ve never really done TV. I’ve been on the news before, whenever 16, 28, or 22 did a story on something KRZ was doing. There I am, in the background, hiding behind Rocky & Sue, do you see me? That’s not going to happen anymore -- thank you Dr. LaFoca!
I even had a new picture taken for the KRZ website. It’s what pops up on the home page when I’m on the air. I still can’t believe it, that’s me?! The change goes beyond my teeth:
My lips look fuller because my natural teeth were actually too small and my jaw was misaligned. When Dr. LaFoca fixed those problems, it actually changed my profile!
The smile lines around my mouth that every woman gets for her 30th birthday are much less noticeable – because my teeth are bigger now and that stretches the skin. Kind of like a little facelift without the scalpel!
My cheekbones look higher, simply because I’m smiling wider. And that makes my eyes brighter, too.
When I say I’ve been transformed, I am NOT kidding!
I can’t wait until Thanksgiving, when I reunite with all the family I haven’t seen in awhile. What will they say? I’m REALLY starting to enjoy the sound of compliments! And this is just with my “temporaries” on. Dr. LaFoca keeps gushing about how infinitely better the permanent porcelain veneers will look. I can’t even imagine that, THESE look perfect to me!
I’m also going to have to get used to brushing my new teeth with a Philips SonicCare electric tooth brush. Dr. LaFoca gives one to every smile design patient, it’s the best way to care for porcelain veneers, and keep them white and shiny for life.
That’s ANOTHER thing. I’ve never had teeth this white before – it’s awesome!
